Education & Skills Funding Agency
The ESFA is responsible for overseeing funding of education for students aged between 5 and 19, as well as apprenticeships, adult education and training
The Education & Skills Funding Agency provides funding to training providers to deliver qualifications such as:
- Diplomas, Certificates and Awards
- Apprenticeship Frameworks and Standards
Training providers may have a contract with the ESFA to deliver funded qualifications or they may access the funding as a subcontractor to a contract holder.
Whether or not a learner is funded by the ESFA depends on entitlement and eligibility criteria (such as the learner’s age and prior attainment level). This can be quite complicated, so it is best to speak to your training provider to see if you or your employee meet the funding criteria.
For more information about ESFA funding eligibility, visit their website or ask your training provider.
