Moving and Handling Training
Extra Hands provide comprehensive training for individuals and companies across Norfolk.
Our Moving and Handling Training has been sourced by Residential Care Homes and other community professionals.
This training is delivered as a full day, with the aim to give staff a full understanding of the potential risks of injury to themselves and their Service Users, giving knowledge of how to eliminate unsafe practices and implement safe techniques.
Extra Hands Moving and Handling Training covers relevant legislation, along with risk assessments and the following:
• Anatomy of the spine
• Causes of back pain
• Assessing and reducing risks
• Basic principles of biomechanics
• Unsafe lifting practices
• Small handling aids
• Hoist and sling practical work
This is an interactive training session with practical involvement. Attendees are given training manuals to take away and a certificate of attendance issued.
This is a full day course within the training suite 9.30am to 4.30pm. Refreshments are provided throughout the day; however the learner will need to provide their own lunch.
Sensible clothing and footwear should be worn due to practical elements; ladies may prefer to wear trousers.
