Care Home Independent Pharmacist Prescribing Study (CHIPPS)
CHIPPS is led by researchers at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in partnership with NHS South Norfolk CCG. The researchers want to optimise the way that care home residents’ medicines are managed.
To do this they are testing whether a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber managing repeat prescriptions in the care home works well.
This 5 year programme of work, due to complete in May 2020, is now in its final stage. From August 2018 the researchers will want to recruit 8 more care homes (20 residents in each) in Norfolk.
