Endorsed learning provider now offering Mental Health First Aid courses
There are very few training providers in Norfolk that offer the full, accredited Mental Health England Mental Health First Aid training course, however Anglian Training, one of the N&SCS endorsed learning providers, now offer both the Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid training courses.
The courses take place over two days and qualify delegates as either Adult Mental Health First Aiders or Youth Mental Health First Aiders. Anglian Training are offering the courses on both an open course basis, with have several courses running in Norfolk over the coming months, and also on an in-house basis for groups of up to 16. The courses are being delivered by individuals who have been taught by Mental Health England to deliver the course, and have a wealth of knowledge around Mental Health. The Adult course is being led by an instructor with a wealth of knowledge of Mental Health who has worked within the care sector for many years.
The Adult course is ideal for anybody who is looking to further their knowledge of mental health and know how best to support somebody suffering from a mental health condition, course content for the Adult course includes a range of subjects, including the following:

- Stigma & Discrimination
- Depression - Depression within the workplace
- Alcohol, drugs & mental health
- Non-judgemental listening skills
- What is anxiety disorder?
- Personality disorders
- Eating disorders
- What is psychosis?
- Bipolar disorder
- Action planning for using MHFA
By the end of the course individuals will feel confident and comfortable in supporting somebody who is suffering from a mental health issue.
