NCC make improvements to Bed Tracker

Over 60% of care and nursing homes in Norfolk already use the Bed Tracker’s webform to tell NCC's Brokerage Service about bed vacancies and the types of care that those beds can support and NCC are determined to raise this figure and make the Bed Tracker the single repository of vacancy information in Norfolk.

To do this they are making a number of changes:

  • A smarter webform that only asks questions about your capacity to deliver the care you are contracted to provide
  • Simpler questions about the rates you charge
  • Straightforward questions about when you can next take a hospital discharge and who to contact to arrange an assessment
  • A shorter webform overall to ensure it only takes a minute to submit your information

Having the ability to quickly share the capacity in your home is a powerful asset, and it empowers us to work on behalf of citizens to efficiently identify the homes that meet their requirements. Norfolk County Council recognise the important role that systems like this can play in transforming how they work with independent providers. To that end they will be prioritising placements with providers who are using the bed tracker on at least a weekly basis.

NCC will communicate further over the coming weeks with more detail about how they will be using the information you submit on the Bed Tracker webform. In the meantime, you can continue to submit vacancies with the existing version of the Bed Tracker.
