Webinar recording: Supporting people with learning disabilities to live longer, healthier lives

SCIE and NICE have released the recording of the recent 'Supporting people with learning disabilities to live longer, healthier lives' webinar

People with learning disabilities are now living significantly longer. As they grow older, they have many of the same age-related health needs as the general population. However, people with learning disabilities may also be more likely to develop a range of secondary health conditions (dementia, osteoporosis, epilepsy, diabetes and mental health conditions) compared to the general population and these conditions will develop at an earlier age. Hear from Emma Killick – Director (Adult services), MacIntyre (NICE Guideline committee member) and Jenny Anderton – Transformation Lead, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (NICE Guideline committee member)
