Norfolk County Council subsidised Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act training
St Thomas Training is the official provider of training in Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act for Norfolk County Council and the Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board.
Safeguarding Adults
A number of the Safeguarding Adults courses are open to private, voluntary and independent care organisations (others are only available to Norfolk County Council employees).
- Safeguarding Awareness
- Developing Safeguarding Practice (used to be called 'Refresher')
- Safeguarding Knowhow for Provider Managers
- Learning Lessons from Safeguarding Adults Reviews

Mental Capacity Act
A number of the Mental Capacity Act courses are now open to private, voluntary and independent care organisations (previously only available to Norfolk County Council employees).
- Mental Capacity Act Level 1: Awareness
- Mental Capacity Act Level 2: Complex Decisions
- Mental Capacity Act Level 5: Best Practice for Best Interests Meetings & Decisions
- Mental Capacity Act Level 6: Learning Lessons from Court of Protection Cases

Venues
Most of the sessions take place in Norwich, but a few are spread around the county. The exact address and directions are available on the St Thomas Training website. Tea, coffee and water will be provided free of charge. Some venues can provide lunch, for an extra charge.
