Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) now open to new registrations
The Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) which replaced the NMDS-SC is now open to new registrations.
The Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) is an online data collection service that covers the adult social care workforce in England. It was previously known as the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC).
It's the leading source of workforce information for the whole adult social care sector. Social care employers open accounts and enter worker information into the ASC-WDS.
By having an ASC-WDS account you’ll be eligible to claim money towards the costs of your staff completing adult social care qualifications and learning programmes. This is done through the Workforce Development Fund (WDF).
ASC-WDS account holders value the service as a great place to record all their staff training and qualifications. The service will soon provide alerts when training is going out of date as well as giving an overall view of your workforce.
The data collected in ASC-WDS helps Skills for Care to identify workforce issues affecting the sector. This allows them to represent you to the Government, the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC), the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and other key sector bodies. Local authorities use the data to make decisions around funding and for their market position statements and resource management.
