DSPT and NHSmail
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) is a free, online self-assessment for health and care providers to evaluate and improve their data and cyber security.
The DSPT will help ensure your policies and systems are secure and meet data security and CQC requirements. It will also help you manage risks and share information with other health and care services with peace of mind.
A new version of the DSPT for social care is being released in October 2020. Full details will be published soon.
A programme of support for the sector will also be launched. This will include resources and assistance to help all adult social care providers, with a specific focus on small and medium-sized organisations registered with CQC.
If you would like to access to NHS systems, such as NHSmail, you must complete the DSPT. This includes if you are involved in a local initiative which involves the use of NHSmail.
It is quick and simple to register by providing your contact details and your ODS code https://www.digitalsocialcare.co.uk/latest-guidance/how-to-find-your-ods-code/
